The composter is a slot machine. Feed it, watch the level and hope for the jackpot: bone meal.

What you’ll build
Turn composters into slot machines and feed them one item at a time. Tally every win and miss until the jackpot of bone meal appears. Play a second machine with a different item, work out each win rate and see if you beat the house odds.
Finish line: Two machines have hit the jackpot, every pull is tallied, and you know which item gave the best odds.
Bonus challenge: Team up: add a family member's tallies to yours. Does a bigger pile of pulls land closer to the house odds?
You’ll need
- Wooden slabs for composters
- Lots of seeds
- Melon slices or pumpkins

Stuck?
- Breaking tall grass is a quick way to collect plenty of seeds.
- Use one composter per item so the results don't get mixed up.
- When the composter is full, tap it to collect the bone meal, then keep playing.
