Build an auto pumpkin farm that spots, harvests and collects by itself.
Why farm by hand when a robot can do it? Build a machine that spots a pumpkin, smashes it and ships it home.

What you’ll build
Design a pumpkin farm that works like a robot. Observers spot new pumpkins, pistons knock them off, and a water channel carries them to a hopper and chest. Let it run, compare pumpkins grown with pumpkins collected, and upgrade your design.
Finish line: Your robot farm harvests pumpkins on its own, and you've measured how many it really collects.
Bonus challenge: Double the stems. Does your collection percentage hold up? Then carve a jack o'lantern mascot to guard the robot.
You’ll need
- Pumpkin seeds
- Observers
- Pistons
- A hopper and chest
- A water bucket
- Bone meal
You choose
- Your robot's name
- How many stems (2, 4 or more)
- Where the loot chest goes
Stuck?
- Observers need Nether quartz. No Nether yet? Build it in a Creative copy of your world.
- Keep water away from the stems, because flowing water breaks them.
- The observer's face must look at the fruit spot; the signal comes out of the back.
