Every castle needs eyes in the sky. Build an archer tower, but first, bet on how many blocks it'll eat.

What you’ll build
Design an archer tower for a corner of your wall and use volume to guess how many blocks it will take. Lock in your guess, then build it hollow with a ladder, arrow slits and a way onto the wall. Count every block and reveal how close you got.
Finish line: Your archer tower stands at the wall's corner, and you know exactly how far off your guess was.
Bonus challenge: Price the other three corner towers without placing a block. Could your chests afford the full set?
You’ll need
- Lots of building blocks
- Ladders
- A calculator
You choose
- Tower size (5 × 5 or 7 × 7)
- Height in blocks
- Top (battlements, pointy roof, lookout)
Stuck?
- Ladders need a solid block behind them, so place them against the inside wall.
- Remember to subtract the hollow inside from the solid volume, or your guess will be far too high.
- Add railings at the top. Falls from tall towers hurt in Survival.
