Rebuild your real room at 1 block = 1 m, then build a dream upgrade.
Grab a tape measure. Your real bedroom is about to appear in Minecraft. Will it feel huge, or tiny?
- New skill Building to real-world measurements
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 15 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Grab a tape measure and measure your real bedroom, door and furniture, then convert and round everything to blocks at 1 block = 1 m. Rebuild the room at true size, walk in to see how it feels, then build a dream version next door with one wild upgrade.
Finish line: Your real room stands at true size with a dream-room upgrade right beside it.
Bonus challenge: Measure your family's car and park a true-size outline outside your room. Can you fit through the door?
You’ll need
- A metric tape measure
- Wall and floor blocks
- A door and windows
- Blocks for furniture
You choose
- The 3 things I measure (bed, desk, wardrobe…)
- My rounding rule for halves
- The one wild upgrade in my dream room
Stuck?
- Room feels huge? That's normal. Your character is small compared with a block, so real rooms often feel bigger.
- Stuck on halves like 2.5 m? Pick one rounding rule (always up or always down) and use it everywhere.
- Door won't fit? Doors need a gap two blocks tall and one block wide in the wall.
For grown-ups
