Battle for 20 m: design a main road, a side street and a path at real size.
You have exactly 20 m of road. Cars want it. Cyclists want it. Walkers want it. You decide who wins.
- New skill Building road cross-sections to scale
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 35–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Look up real lane and sidewalk widths, then fight over 20 m of main road: who gets in, cars, bikes, trees or walkers? Build a main road, a side street and a path side by side at true size, test them, link them into your master plan and name your main road.
Finish line: Three real-size streets stand side by side, linked into your city plan, with a named main road.
Bonus challenge: Light the street. A lantern's light is 15 and drops 1 per block. How far apart can they go so no spot drops below 8?
You’ll need
- Road surface blocks
- Kerb and line blocks
- Trees
- A sign
You choose
- Who wins the main road (lanes, bikes, trees, parking)
- My main road's name
- My road palette (surface, kerbs, lines)
Stuck?
- Road feels too wide? That's normal at 1 block = 1 m. Real roads are wider than most players expect.
- Widths not adding up? List every strip, from lanes to sidewalks, and total them before you build.
- Stand a 2-block door beside each street as a size check against your character.
For grown-ups
