Write the speech, cut the ribbon and lead a 5-stop district tour.
Mission 250! A ribbon to cut, fireworks to launch and a whole district to show off. You're the host.
- New skill Hosting a grand opening
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 40–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Write a three-part opening speech, pick a wow number for each tour stop and improve your speech with feedback. Then host the grand opening: break the ribbon, lead the tour, take questions from the crowd and launch a fireworks finale.
Finish line: You've cut the ribbon, led a five-stop tour, answered questions and lit the sky with fireworks.
Bonus challenge: Put a sign at every stop with its wow fact, so anyone can take the tour alone. Then design a bigger fireworks show for Mission 300.
You’ll need
- Wool for the ribbon
- Firework rockets
- A family audience
You choose
- My district's name and motto
- My 5 tour stops
- My firework colours for the finale
Stuck?
- Firework won't launch? Hold the rocket and tap the ground to set it off.
- Speech running long? Keep each part to a few sentences and let the builds do the talking.
- Stumped by a question? "Great question, I'll find out" is a fine answer.
