Build a redstone clock in your tower that rings a bell on a perfect beat.
Every great city has a bell that rings on time. Yours will run on a loop of redstone that never stops.
- New skill Building a repeater loop clock
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 35–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Work out how many repeater ticks you need for your chosen beat, then build a loop clock in a secret room in the tower. Wire it to a bell or note block, start the pulse and count the rings in a minute to see if your prediction holds.
Finish line: Your tower bell rings on a steady beat from a hidden loop, and you've checked it against your prediction.
Bonus challenge: Build a second loop with a different beat and a second bell. Predict when both ring at the same moment, then check.
You’ll need
- Repeaters
- Redstone dust
- A bell or note block
- A button
- A timer
You choose
- My target: a ring every ___ seconds
- Bell, note block or both
- Where the secret clock room goes
Stuck?
- Loop stuck on and silent? It's too short, so add more repeaters or more delay.
- Pulse not going round? Every repeater must face the same way round the loop.
- Converting? 1 tick = 0.1 s, so 20 ticks round the loop means one ring every 2 seconds.
For grown-ups
