Plant a kelp field, run a harvest race and make dried kelp block fuel.
Your furnace is starving and there's no coal in sight. But the sea floor is waving with free fuel.

What you’ll build
No coal? No problem. Plant a kelp field on the sea floor, run a timed harvest race, then smelt your haul and pack it into dried kelp blocks. Test how far one block of fuel goes and show off your stacks in a Kelp Kingdom treasury.
Finish line: Your kelp field is regrowing and your treasury holds a stack of dried kelp fuel blocks.
Bonus challenge: Coal smelts 8 items. How many coal does one kelp block equal? Fill a whole chest row of kelp blocks and work out its smelting power.

Stuck?
- Kelp not growing back? Break it one block up so the bottom piece stays planted.
- Running out of air? Watch the bubbles and surface before they run out, or plant in shallower water.
- Kelp needs water above it to grow, so plant it on the sea floor rather than on land.
