- Level 4 · Legends of the Deep
- Difficulty Intermediate

- Time 30 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Nothing blocks the sky up here. Build a glass-domed observatory on your highest island with a lamp that switches on at night. Time a full day from sunrise to sunrise with a real timer and sketch the moon each night until it repeats.
Finish line: Your observatory lights itself at night and its sign shows how long one Odyssey day really is.
Bonus challenge: Craft a clock (4 gold ingots + 1 redstone) and hang it in an item frame. Can you tell the time without looking outside?
You’ll need
- Glass
- Nether quartz
- Wooden slabs
- Redstone dust
- Redstone lamps
- A real timer
You choose
- My observatory's name
- Dome shape and lamp colour
- My bet: a full Odyssey day lasts ___ real minutes
Stuck?
- Lamps on in daytime? Tap the daylight sensor to invert it so it powers at night.
- Sensor not working? It needs open sky above it.
- Missed a moon sketch? Sleeping skips the night, so stay up to see the moon.
