Build a 5-station coded treasure hunt and time a family member through it.
Five stations. Five different codes. One treasure. Build a hunt so good your family begs for a rematch.
- New skill Planning a route of clue stations
- Level 5 · Mysteries & Monsters
- Difficulty Intermediate
- Mode Survival
- Time 15–20 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Put your best codes together in one big treasure hunt. Plan a route of five clue stations, using coded coordinates, banners, first-letter notices, a lever or song puzzle and a final riddle. Walk the route yourself to fix any problems, then time a family member as they race to the treasure.
Finish line: Your five-station coded hunt works from start to finish, and the hunter's time is on the board.
Bonus challenge: Swap roles: your hunter builds a 3-station hunt for you. Who wins the fastest time per station?
You’ll need
- Signs
- Banners
- A treasure chest
- A timer
- A family member to hunt
You choose
- My hunt's name
- The grand prize
- My time bet for the hunter: ___ minutes
Stuck?
- Test the whole route yourself first. One wrong number early on breaks every clue after it.
- The hunter needs to join your world or take a turn on your device, so plan who plays where.
- Run the hunt in daylight on Easy, and light each station so mobs don't spawn there.
For grown-ups
