Mission 514 hasn’t hit the channel yet. Subscribe and you’ll see it the day it lands.
Build a 2×2 floor door over an escape chute, toggled by one button.
Intruders at the lab door? Hit the button. The floor opens, you drop into the hidden chute and vanish.
- New skill Toggling a door with a copper bulb
- Level 6 · Inventor's Lab
- Difficulty Intermediate
- Mode Creative
- Time 45–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Dig a deep escape chute with a soft water landing, then cover it with a floor door made from sticky pistons. A copper bulb gives the button a memory, so one press shuts the floor and the next drops you out of sight. Test it, then race your best escape.
Finish line: Your escape chute opens and shuts with one button, and you've timed your fastest drop from press to splash.
Bonus challenge: Add a second button down in the chute, wired to the same bulb, so you can shut the floor behind you from below.
You’ll need
- Sticky pistons
- Copper bulb
- Comparator
- A button
- Water buckets
- Floor blocks
You choose
- My escape chute's name
- Where it lands: a pool, a slide or
- The floor pattern that hides the pistons
Stuck?
- Floor won't toggle? The comparator must read the copper bulb and feed all four pistons.
- Make the landing pool at least 3 deep, so you splash down instead of hitting the bottom.
- Wax the copper bulb with honeycomb so it doesn't dim as it ages.
For grown-ups
