Build a hopper that drops items into a chest, then an egg collector.
- New skill Hoppers move items into chests
- Level 1 · The Village
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 20–30 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Meet the hopper, your first item mover. You'll fix a hopper onto a chest, drop in a few test items and check they arrive by themselves. Then build a tiny chicken pen right on top of it and come back later to find the eggs collected for you.
Finish line: Items dropped on the hopper end up in the chest without you touching them, eggs included.
Bonus challenge: Add a second hopper pointing into the side of the same chest for a bigger coop, and put a label sign on the chest.
You’ll need
- Chests
- Hoppers
- A few test items
- Chicken spawn eggs
You choose
- What my collector is for
- Chest label sign
- Where the chicken coop goes
Stuck?
- Tapping the chest just opens it? Sneak first, then place the hopper so its spout points into the chest.
- Items sitting on the hopper? Check the spout is pointing into the chest, not off to the side.
- No eggs yet? Chickens lay every 5–10 minutes, so build something else and check back.
For grown-ups
