Build a to-scale wall from 10,000 BCE to now, then beat the Scramble.

The machine needs a map of time. Build 12,000 years into one wall, then race to fix it when it's scrambled.

  • New skill Building to scale with coordinates
  • Level 7 · Time Travellers
  • Difficulty Intermediate
  • Mode Creative
  • Time 45–60 min

What you’ll build

Turn 12,000 years of history into one long wall where every block stands for a century. Mark famous moments from the first farms to the Moon landing in their proper places, then race the clock when someone secretly scrambles your signs.

Finish line: Your to-scale timeline wall has every event in place, and you've beaten the Scramble with a race time to prove it.

Bonus challenge: Add your own life to the end of the wall. At 1 block = 100 years, how wide is it? Now zoom in: build a mini-wall where 1 block = 1 year of your life.

You’ll need

  • Banners or signs
  • A gold block
  • A timer
  • A family member to scramble it

You choose

  • My colour for BCE: ____________ and for CE
  • One event I'll add that isn't on the list
  • My guess: how much of the wall comes before Year 1?

Stuck?

  • Losing count along the wall? Turn on Show Coordinates in world settings and use the numbers to place each block.
  • Work out each spot first: years from the start ÷ 100 gives the block number. BCE years count down toward Year 1.
  • Signs hard to read from a distance? Add a tall banner or a coloured block above each event.

For grown-ups
