Build a target game that lights up and rings when someone hits it.
- New skill Putting redstone pieces together into a game
- Level 1 · The Village
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 40–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Design your own target game. You'll build an arena with a target at one end, then wire it to a lamp and a note block so a hit lights up and rings. Test it with a bow, write the rules and challenge a family member while you keep score.
Finish line: Your game lights up or rings on a hit, and a family member plays it using your rules.
Bonus challenge: Add a second target that's harder to hit, worth bonus points.
You’ll need
- Target blocks
- Redstone dust
- Redstone lamps
- Note blocks
- Bow and arrows
- A family member to play
You choose
- Game rules (shots and points)
- What happens on a hit (lamp, bell or both)
- My arena's name
Stuck?
- Lamp flickers but bell is silent? Keep the space above the note block empty and check the dust points into it.
- Hits near the edge send a weaker signal, so keep the lamp and note block close to the target.
- Keep players behind the shooting line, and never aim at pets or animals.
