Build an explorer's ship, then sail right round an island and chart it.
In 1519 five ships set out to sail around the world. Three years later, one came home. Can you make it round?

What you’ll build
Build a three-masted explorer's ship in your harbour, then launch its small boat and sail right round a nearby island against the clock. Mark its north, east, south and west tips, then make a map wall to show off your voyage.
Finish line: Your ship is built, you've sailed all the way round the island, marked all four tips and hung a map wall.
Bonus challenge: Sail the lap the other way round and compare times. Then find the real 1519–1522 route on a world map and trace it with your finger.

Stuck?
