Build a ring space station near the top of the world with solar wings.
Way above the clouds, at the very top of the world, there's room for a space station. Only you can reach it.
- New skill Building high with daylight sensors
- Level 7 · Time Travellers
- Difficulty Intermediate
- Mode Creative
- Time 45–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Fly up past the clouds to the very top of the world and build a ring space station there, with a hub, spokes and modules. Add solar wings of daylight sensors that light lamps at night, a docking port and a glass dome to watch the sunrise.
Finish line: Your ring station floats near the top of the world with modules, solar wings and a docking port.
Bonus challenge: Build a smaller second ring inside the first. How many times longer is the big ring? Check: is it the same as big radius ÷ small radius?
You’ll need
- Daylight sensors
- Redstone lamps
- Redstone dust
- Glass
- Building blocks
- A calculator
You choose
- My station's name
- Ring size: radius 10 or 15
- My 3 modules (lab, garden, pods, dome…)
Stuck?
- Can't place blocks any higher? You've reached the top build height, so build a few blocks lower.
- Lamps on in the daytime? Tap each daylight sensor to flip it to night mode.
- Ring looking lumpy? Mark the four compass points first at the same distance from the hub.
