Wire a 4-lever combination lock and write clues so only one combo fits.
Four levers. Sixteen combos. Only one opens the door, and the clues on the wall never lie… or do they?
- New skill Wiring a lever combination lock
- Level 8 · Game Makers
- Difficulty Advanced
- Mode Creative
- Time 40–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Wire a lever combination lock where only one combo opens an iron door, using redstone torches and dust hidden behind the levers. Then write clue signs that point to just one answer and challenge someone to crack it.
Finish line: Your four-lever lock opens only for one combo, and your clue signs lead to exactly that answer.
Bonus challenge: Add a redstone lamp on a branch of the line: it glows while the door is locked and goes dark when the combo is right. Instant feedback!
You’ll need
- 4 levers
- Redstone dust
- Redstone torches
- An iron door
- Signs
You choose
- My puzzle room's name
- The secret combo (circle the ON levers): A B C D
- My sneakiest clue
Stuck?
- Iron doors can't be opened by tapping. They only open with a redstone signal.
- Door always open or always shut? Check each dust line really points into its block.
- Test every lever on its own first so you know which ones are answers and which are decoys.
