What you’ll build
Design a maze with one way through and plenty of dead ends. You'll draw the true path first, then add tricky branches. Build the hedges in the world square by square, add a gate and a prize, test it on foot and invite a family member to try.
Finish line: Your maze has one way through, you've tested it, and a family member has tried it.
Bonus challenge: Add a secret shortcut only you know about, hidden behind a block of leaves.
You’ll need
- Leaves
- Fence gate
- Lanterns
- A prize block or item
- A family member to try it
You choose
- Maze size (15 × 15 is plenty)
- Wall block (leaves, stone, wood)
- Prize in the middle or at the exit
Stuck?
- Make walls at least two blocks high so nobody can jump over or peek.
- Walk it, don't fly. That's the only way to check there's just one way through.
- Leaves you place yourself don't disappear, so they make a perfect hedge.
