Race water down test trenches, fill a moat, then build the moat monster.
Your castle needs a moat. How far will the water run before it gives up? And what's lurking under the bridge?

What you’ll build
Run a water race down test trenches to see how far one bucket really flows. Change one thing for a rematch, then use what you learn to fill your moat with the fewest buckets. Bridge it at the gate and build a moat monster lurking in the water.
Finish line: Your moat circles the castle, a bridge crosses at the gate, and a monster lurks in the water.
Bonus challenge: Make an infinite water source next to the moat (3 sources in a row, or a 2 × 2 pool) for easy refills.
You’ll need
- 2 or more buckets
- A shovel
- Blocks for a bridge and monster
You choose
- Moat width (1, 2 or 3 blocks)
- Bridge style
- Moat monster's name
Stuck?
- On flat ground, water spreads about 7 blocks from where you pour it.
- Pour a bucket at each end of a short gap and the water in between can turn into a full source.
- Keep the trench perfectly flat for the first race, or the result won't be fair.
