You're the spy drone. Fly over every corner of your claim and uncover what the land is hiding.

What you’ll build
Guess where the summit and the deepest dip are, then fly a grid over your claim, landing at each point to drop a flag and note its height. Join equal heights into contour lines to reveal the land's secret shape and pick the perfect spot for downtown.
Finish line: Your claim is dotted with height flags and you have a contour map with a named hill, valley and downtown spot.
Bonus challenge: Build a mini 3D model of your land in a corner: one block column per flag, scaled down. Does it match your map?
You’ll need
- Fence posts
- A block for each flag top
- Coloured pencils
You choose
- I predict the summit is near
- My survey flag (block on a fence post)
- My contour gap (2, 5 or 10 m)
Stuck?
- Heights jumping around? Read your Y the same way every time, standing on the ground, never mid-flight.
- Lost your grid? Start from your claim corners and count 20 blocks along X or Z between flags.
- Contour lines crossing? Lines for different heights never cross, so recheck the numbers near that spot.
