Build a concert hall, play a note-block tune, find where the music fades.

Opening night! The hall is built and the note blocks are tuned… but can the back row actually hear the show?

  • New skill Tuning note blocks and wiring a stage
  • Level 3 · Dream City
  • Difficulty Beginner
  • Mode Creative
  • Time 35–45 min
  • Ages 13+

What you’ll build

Build a concert hall, tune a row of note blocks and wire them to a button for the premiere. Then run a fair test to find where the music fades, try a different instrument block underneath, and place the back row of seats where everyone can still hear.

Finish line: Your note-block stage plays its tune, the fade point is measured three times and every seat is within earshot.

Bonus challenge: Build a second stage with a different instrument and turn your tune into a duet, or write a brand-new 8-note tune and give it a name.

You’ll need

  • Note blocks
  • A button, redstone and repeaters
  • Seat blocks
  • A helper to press the button

You choose

  • My tune: Ode to Joy / Frère Jacques / my own
  • Tournament: ____________ vs ____________ (the block under the note blocks)
  • Hall name and shape (rectangle or fan)

Stuck?

  • Note block silent? It needs an empty block directly above it.
  • Notes all playing at once? Put repeaters between the note blocks so they play one after another.
  • Results jumping around? Keep the game volume and tune the same, and use the middle of three runs.

For grown-ups
