Build twin rooms in clashing and blending colours. Which feels calmer?
Two rooms. Same size, same furniture, same light. Only the colours change. Can a colour trick their brain?
- New skill Choosing palettes from the colour wheel
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 35–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Use a colour wheel to pick a clashing pair and a blending set, then build twin rooms that are identical except for their colours. Lock in a prediction, have family members rate how calm each room feels, and crunch the scores to see if colour really changes mood.
Finish line: Your twin rooms are tested by real people, and the mean, median and range show which feels calmer.
Bonus challenge: Add mystery room C in white, grey and wood. Where does it land on the scoreboard? Then build a room designed to be as annoying as possible.
You’ll need
- Concrete, wool or terracotta
- Furniture-style blocks
- Light blocks
- At least 3 family members
You choose
- Clash pair, opposite on the colour wheel
- Blend set, neighbours on the wheel
- Secret code names for room A and room B
Stuck?
- Rooms not identical? Copy size, lights and furniture spots exactly. Only the colours should change.
- Mix up the visit order: some testers see room A first, others room B first.
- Only a few testers? Each can rate again on a different day for more data.
