- Mode Survival
- Time 30–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Dolphins know the sea's secrets. Find a playful pod, feed one some fish and follow it by boat while you track the route. When it stops, dive to see what it found, then plot the chase and try another dolphin.
Finish line: You followed a dolphin across the sea and charted its route to a hidden wreck or ruin.
Bonus challenge: Feed 3 dolphins in 3 different spots. Do they lead to the same treasure or different ones? Plot all 3 routes in different colours.
You’ll need
- Raw cod or raw salmon
- A boat
- A stopwatch
You choose
- My dolphin's name
- My bet: it leads me to a shipwreck or a ruin?
- How I'll keep up: boat or swimming?
Stuck?
- Dolphin not leading anywhere? It doesn't always work, so bring plenty of fish and try again.
- Never hit a dolphin: they fight back, and the rest of the pod may join in.
- Losing sight of it? Keep your boat close and watch for its splashes on the surface.
For grown-ups
