What you’ll build
Turn your ocean adventures into a giant wall map. Plan the layout, craft maps and explore to fill each one, then hang them together in item frames. Add a key, write a captain's log of your discoveries and give a grand tour of your map room.
Finish line: Your map wall shows your ocean, with a key and a captain's log telling every discovery.
Bonus challenge: Hide one last secret on the wall: a spot that leads to a chest only you know about. Can a family member work out which map it's on?
You’ll need
- Paper
- A compass
- Item frames
- A book and quill
- A lectern
You choose
- My ship's name and captain's title
- My top 5 discoveries for the map
- Where the map room goes on my island
Stuck?
- Map blank? A new map only fills in as you walk or sail across the area it covers.
- Maps not lining up? Make each one starting from inside the area you want it to show, and keep them the same size.
- No paper? Craft it from sugar cane, which grows next to water.
