What you’ll build
Hunt underground for an amethyst geode and mine copper to craft your very own spyglass. Then build a tall lookout tower near HQ, climb to the deck and zoom in on the land around you. Guess how far away five landmarks are, check by travelling there, and pin each one on a spy map.
Finish line: You have a spyglass, a lookout tower over 20 blocks tall and a spy map with five landmarks.
Bonus challenge: Spot a mob through the spyglass, guess how far away it is, then walk there counting blocks. Closest guess in the family wins.

- Amethyst shard
- Copper ingots
- A stone pickaxe or better
- Ladders
- Torches and food

Stuck?
- A spyglass is 1 amethyst shard on top of 2 copper ingots in a column. Smelt copper ore first.
- Geodes are smooth basalt and calcite balls hidden underground. Look for purple glints in cave walls.
- Ladders need a solid block behind them, so build the tower wall first and place the ladder on its inside.
