Sort every relic into a labelled vault, then play the Mystery Relic game.

Your chests are a jumble of bones, gold and broken pottery. Somewhere in that mess is the explorer's relic.

  • New skill Organising storage with item frames
  • Level 5 · Mysteries & Monsters
  • Difficulty Intermediate
  • Mode Survival
  • Time 30–45 min
  • Ages 13+

What you’ll build

Tip every find from your desert trips into one big pile, choose a sorting rule and split them into groups. Build a relic vault with a chest, a sample in an item frame and a sign for each group. Then play the Mystery Relic game, finding a secret relic with as few yes or no questions as you can.

Finish line: Your relic vault is sorted and labelled, and you've played the Mystery Relic game both ways.

Bonus challenge: Sort the same relics a second, completely different way. Which rule made the Mystery Relic game easier, and why?

You’ll need

  • Chests
  • Item frames
  • Signs
  • All your desert finds
  • A family member to play

You choose

  • My vault's name
  • Sort by: where it was found, what it is, or
  • My secret Mystery Relic for the challenger

Stuck?

  • Item frames are 8 sticks around 1 leather. Hold an item and tap the frame to show it.
  • Two chests side by side join into one big chest. Leave a gap between groups if you want them separate.
  • Running out of questions? Ask ones that split what's left in half, like "Is it from the temple?"

For grown-ups
