Hide a trapdoor floor that drops guests into a pool, then snaps shut again.
A friendly lobby. A cosy rug. One button press later, your guest is swimming. Welcome to the Splash Floor.
- New skill Powering a trapdoor floor from below
- Level 6 · Inventor's Lab
- Difficulty Intermediate
- Mode Creative
- Time 30–40 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Build a friendly lobby with a hidden pool under a patch of trapdoor floor. Wire the trapdoors through secret tunnels to a button nobody will spot. Welcome your guest in, press… SPLASH! The floor then snaps shut on its own.
Finish line: Your lobby floor drops guests into a pool on a secret button, then snaps shut ready for the next one.
Bonus challenge: Swap the button for a pressure plate in the middle of the trap. Now guests spring it themselves. Does anyone dodge it?
You’ll need
- Trapdoors
- Repeaters
- Redstone dust
- Buttons
- Water bucket
- A ladder
You choose
- My lobby's fake name
- Where the secret button hides
- Stone button (quick drop) or wooden (long drop)
Stuck?
- Trapdoors not flush? Place them in the top half of the gap so they look like floor tiles.
- A trapdoor won't drop? Its repeater must point into the block right beside it.
- Add a ladder so your soggy guest can climb out of the pool.
