No wings. No engine. No pilot. Just slime, pistons and observers… and it crawls across the sky on its own.
- New skill Building a slime-block flying machine
- Level 6 · Inventor's Lab
- Difficulty Intermediate
- Mode Creative
- Time 30–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Build a machine with no wings and no pilot that crawls across the sky by itself. Using slime blocks, pistons and observers from a simple design made for your version, you'll launch it high in the air, stop it with a wall and time its flight.
Finish line: Your flying machine crosses the Lab on its own, stops at the wall and has a timed speed.
Bonus challenge: Debug detective: swap one part the wrong way round on purpose. Predict what will happen, test it, then fix it. Were you right?
You’ll need
- Slime blocks
- Observers
- A piston
- A sticky piston
- Obsidian
- A trusted design diagram
You choose
- My machine's name
- Its mission: cross the Lab, cross a canyon or
- My bet for 50 blocks: ___ seconds
Stuck?
- Build it high in the air: slime grabs any block it touches, including the ground.
- Designs differ between Bedrock and Java, so follow a diagram made for your version.
- Won't stop? Pistons can't push obsidian, so an obsidian wall makes a perfect finish line.
