Build a fire camp, race campfire vs furnace cooking and send smoke signals.
Fire means warmth, light, cooked food and safety. Build the camp, guard the flame, send a secret signal.

What you’ll build
Build a fire camp with log seats and leaf shelters, then hold a cooking race between a campfire and a furnace. Climb a hill, build a signal fire that sends smoke soaring and invent your own smoke code to send messages across the land.
Finish line: Your fire camp is built, the cooking race is won and your smoke signals carry between two hills.
Bonus challenge: Build a chain of 3 signal hills and pass a message down the line. Did it arrive the same as it started?

- Campfires
- Hay bales
- Raw fish or meat
- A furnace
- A shovel
- Flint and steel

Stuck?
- Smoke not tall enough? Put a hay bale directly under the campfire for a signal fire.
- To 'puff', tap the campfire with a shovel to put it out, then relight it with flint and steel.
- To cook on a campfire, hold the raw food and tap the fire. It takes up to 4 items at once.
