- Level 1 · The Village
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Survival
- Time 45–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Save up for something big. You'll track how much iron each armour piece needs, then mine and smelt until you've got enough. Craft a helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots, put them on and watch your armour bar fill up.
Finish line: You're wearing a full set of iron armour you mined, smelted and crafted yourself.
Bonus challenge: Make an iron sword (2 iron and a stick) too, or build an armour stand to show off your set.
You’ll need
- Stone pickaxe or better
- Iron ore
- Coal for fuel
- Furnace
- Crafting table
You choose
- Which piece to craft first
- Save extra iron for tools?
- How you'll celebrate
Stuck?
- Keep a tally as you go so you know how much iron is left to find.
- One piece of coal smelts eight items, so smelt raw iron in batches to save fuel.
- Mining means caves, so bring torches, food and spare blocks on every trip.
