Some wooden towers in Japan have survived earthquakes for over 1,000 years. What's their secret? Build it.

What you’ll build
Raise a tall central pillar, then build five storeys around it, each a little narrower than the one below. Give every storey a roof that juts out with corners curling up, hang lanterns underneath and have an inspector check every corner.
Finish line: Your five-storey lookout has a central pillar, curling roofs at every level and glowing lanterns.
Bonus challenge: Build a second tower with no overhangs next door. Stand between them in the rain (or imagine it): which one keeps its walls dry?

- Slabs

- Roof colours and wood
- Roof overhang: 1, 2 or 3 blocks?
Stuck?
- Corners not curling? Use an upside-down stair at the tip, then a slab above it to lift the edge.
- Storeys off-centre? Count the same number of blocks out from the pillar on every side.
- Lanterns falling? Hang them under a solid block or a fence, not under nothing.
