Build a clock tower with a redstone clock that rings a bell, then time it.
The town is always late. The council wants a tower that rings on time, every time. Your redstone, your rules.
- New skill Building a repeater loop clock
- Level 7 · Time Travellers
- Difficulty Intermediate
- Mode Creative
- Time 45–60 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Build a tall clock tower with a giant clock face, then hide a repeater loop clock inside that rings a bell at the top. Count the chimes in a minute, run five tests to find its true beat and tune the repeaters until it rings just right.
Finish line: Your clock tower rings its bell on a steady beat, tested five times and tuned to your timing.
Bonus challenge: Add a second loop that plays a note block every other chime. Can you make the tower play a short tune of your own?
You’ll need
- Redstone repeaters
- Redstone dust
- A bell
- A button or redstone torch
- A stopwatch
You choose
- My tower's name
- The time on my big clock face
- My bet: chimes in one minute
Stuck?
- Loop not ticking? It needs one short pulse to start. Press a button beside it, don't leave a lever on.
- Bell silent? Make sure the redstone line touches the bell or the block it hangs from.
- Tap a repeater to add delay. Each tap adds 0.1 seconds, up to 0.4.
