Deep under the Nether, buried in rock, sits a brown block that laughs at explosions. Dig it out the old way.

What you’ll build
Stair down to around Y 15 in the Nether, build a sealed, lit start room, then dig long tunnels hunting for ancient debris. Plug lava the instant it shows, mine every find with your diamond pickaxe and work out how many blocks each one really cost.
Finish line: Your tunnel mine is safe, your pile of ancient debris is growing and you know your blocks per find.
Bonus challenge: Split your dig into two halves. Was your find rate faster in the first half or the second? Make a theory for why.

Stuck?
- Ancient debris needs a diamond pickaxe or better. It looks like brown, swirly rock.
- Lava showing? Plug it with a block straight away, and keep Fire Resistance in your hotbar.
- Never dig straight down in the Nether. A lava lake could be right underneath.
