Learn to glide with elytra and rockets, then fly a route over your world.
- New skill Gliding and steering with elytra
- Level 1 · The Village
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 30–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Take to the skies! You'll build a tall launch tower, put on elytra wings, leap off and open them mid-fall, steering by looking around and using rockets for a speed boost. Then fly your planned route and spot each place from above.
Finish line: You glide from your tower, boost with a rocket and fly your whole route over the village.
Bonus challenge: Build a hoop from blocks high in the sky and fly through it, then try a smaller one.
You’ll need
- Elytra
- Firework rockets
- A tall tower to jump from
You choose
- Where I'll take off
- My flying route
- What I'll fly past last
Stuck?
- Wings won't open? Jump off, then press jump again while you're falling.
- Look down to speed up and up to slow down. Small movements work best.
- Rockets only boost you while you're gliding. Used on the ground, they just launch.
For grown-ups
