Build a tiny 1:4 version of a castle building, then build its giant twin.

Build a building you could step over… then build its giant twin, exactly 4 times bigger.

  • New skill Scaling a design up
  • Level 2 · Rise of the Kingdom
  • Difficulty Beginner
  • Mode Survival
  • Time 35–45 min
  • Ages 13+

What you’ll build

Choose a castle building and make a tiny version first, where each block stands for four. Scale every measurement up, spot what breaks when it grows and decide how to fix it. Then build the giant twin and stand on the mini to see how well it predicted the real thing.

Finish line: Your mini model stands beside its giant twin, and you know what changed as it grew.

Bonus challenge: Count the giant wall blocks and check your prediction. Closer than 10 % earns you the title Royal Architect.

You’ll need

  • Building blocks
  • A calculator

You choose

  • Building (barracks, stable, chapel…)
  • Mini size: ___ × ___ × ___ blocks
  • Detail you'll add at giant size

Stuck?

  • Multiply every length by 4, but remember the area grows 16 times, so you'll need far more blocks.
  • Mark the giant corners using coordinates before you start the walls.
  • The full-size building can take more than one session, so frame it first if you run short.

For grown-ups
