Dig a pond and put axolotls or fish in it.

What you’ll build
Dig a pond for some new water friends. You'll mark out the shape, dig it two blocks deep and fill it with water. Then release axolotls or fish from their bucket, decorate the edges with rocks and lily pads, and watch them swim.
Finish line: Your pond is full of water, animals are swimming in it, and the edges look finished.
Bonus challenge: Build a little bridge or wooden dock over the pond, using what you learned in Mission 4.
You’ll need
- Shovel
- Water buckets
- Bucket of axolotl or fish
- Lily pads
- Rocks or stone
You choose
- Pond shape and size
- Axolotls or fish? (Hint: think about it below!)
- Decorations: lily pads, rocks, a little dock…
Stuck?
- Axolotls hunt most fish, so give them a pond of their own if you want to keep both.
- Lily pads only go on top of water. Tap the water surface, not the pond floor.
- Keep the pond topped up. Axolotls left on dry land slowly dry out.
