Win the race to the sky with a stepped, gold-crowned Art Deco tower.
It's 1930 and the city is racing to the sky. Your tower needs setbacks, sunbursts and a glowing crown.
- New skill Setbacks and strong vertical lines
- Level 3 · Dream City
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Creative
- Time 35–45 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
It's the 1930s and the race to the sky is on. Plan a tower of shrinking tiers, build a base with tall vertical piers, then step back tier by tier, keeping it centred. Crown it with gold ornament, glowing lights and a spire, then work out each tier's volume and share.
Finish line: Your Art Deco tower rises in at least three tiers to a glowing gold crown, with every tier's volume worked out.
Bonus challenge: Sneaky spire: in 1929 the Chrysler Building's spire was built inside, then raised to win the height race. Build yours last as a surprise reveal!
You’ll need
- Gold blocks
- Main building blocks
- Glass
- Lights for the crown
You choose
- Number of tiers (3 or more)
- Main colour and gold or accent colour
- Crown ornament (zigzag, sunburst, chevron)
Stuck?
- Tower drifting off-centre? Use odd widths so every tier has a true middle block to line up on.
- Running out of height? Count down from the 90-block limit before you plan each tier.
- Copper changing colour? It weathers over time unless you wax it with honeycomb.
For grown-ups
