Winter is coming to the fjord. Your clan needs a longhouse with a roof steep enough to shrug off the snow.

What you’ll build
Hold roof trials with slabs, stairs and steep stacked blocks, then measure rise and run to crown a champion slope. Build a long timber Viking hall with a central hearth and benches, and roof it in turf or thatch at your winning pitch.
Finish line: Your Viking longhouse has a hearth, benches and a roof built at the slope that won your trials.
Bonus challenge: Use the secret shortcut (√(rise² + run²)) to predict your real roof's sloping length, then count blocks to check. How close were you?

Stuck?
- Slope numbers confusing? Rise is how far up, run is how far across. Count both in blocks from the same edge.
- Roof hitting a limit? Steeper slopes need more height, so check your peak before you build the walls.
- Hall too cramped? Keep within 21 long and 7 wide and line the benches along the walls.
