The city is hungry and land is running out. Two rival farms rise on the rooftops. Only one can win.

What you’ll build
Build two rival farms on the same small footprint: a single rooftop field and a stacked sky tower. Change just one thing in your test, plant the same crop everywhere and wait while it grows, then count the harvest and crown the farm that grows most per square metre.
Finish line: Both farms are planted and judged, and your crops-per-square-metre count names the winner.
Bonus challenge: Run a rematch and find the mean of both rounds. Did the champion keep its crown?
You’ll need
- A hoe
- Water buckets
- Seeds, carrots or potatoes
- Lights for indoor layers
- A timer

Stuck?
- Crops not growing? They need water within 4 blocks and enough light, so indoor layers need lamps.
- Nothing happening? Crops only grow while you're nearby, so stay close during the test.
- Skip the bone meal. It speeds up growth and would spoil the fair test.
