Breed turtles on their home beach and guard the eggs until they hatch.
Zombies love to stomp turtle eggs. Tonight you're the only thing standing between them and the babies.

What you’ll build
Zombies love to trample turtle eggs, so you're on guard duty. Find turtles on their home beach, build a lit nursery with an open path to the sea, then feed them seagrass. Guard the eggs for a few nights and watch the babies scuttle out.
Finish line: Your turtle eggs have hatched safely and the babies have made it to the sea.
Bonus challenge: Keep breeding until you have 5 scutes, then craft a turtle shell helmet. It gives you 10 extra seconds of air underwater!
You’ll need
- Shears
- Seagrass
- Wall or fence blocks
- Lots of torches

- My nursery's name
- My defences: walls, fences, a moat or lights?
- Names for the first two hatchlings
Stuck?
- Seagrass vanishing when you break it? Use shears on it to collect it.
- Turtles lay their eggs on sand on their home beach, so build the nursery there.
- Eggs cracking slowly? They take several in-game nights, so keep checking and keep the area lit.
