Build a 40-block spider tower climb, then race it and find your speed.
A tower 40 blocks tall, a giant spider perched on top and only one way up. First to touch its red eyes wins.

What you’ll build
Build a towering spider-themed climb with a splash pool around its base. Start with easy ladders, move to spiralling jumps and finish with your trickiest stretch, then crown it with a giant spider. Race to the top a few times, work out your climbing speed and challenge someone else.
Finish line: Your spider tower has three climbing zones and race times for every climber.
Bonus challenge: Add a web trap zone (cobwebs slow you right down; shear them in a mineshaft). Predict how many seconds it adds, then race and check.
You’ll need
- Ladders
- Lots of building blocks
- Black and red wool
- Water buckets
- A timer

Stuck?
- Ladders need a solid block behind them. Place them on the tower wall, not in open air.
- Water stops fall damage. Make sure the splash pool covers every spot you could fall onto.
- Test every jump before racing. If you can't make it, nobody else can either.
