Build a 1:4 scale oval arena with numbered gates and a pop-up show.

What you’ll build
Plan one quarter of a giant oval, mirror it four ways and raise a scaled-down arena with tiers of arches and numbered gates. Hide a sticky-piston lift under the floor, stretch an awning round the top and put on a peaceful pop-up show.
Finish line: Your oval arena has numbered gates, an awning and a pop-up show that rises through the floor.
Bonus challenge: Count your seats, then work out how many of your arenas it would take to hold 50,000 fans. Is your arena really a quarter of the size?
You’ll need
- Stone blocks
- Sticky piston
- A lever
- Redstone dust
- Wool for an awning
- A calculator

Stuck?
- Oval lopsided? Build one quarter, then copy it exactly by counting blocks from the centre lines.
- Lift not rising? The sticky piston must face up, with the block to lift sitting right on its face.
- Redstone dust needs a solid block under it. Run it below the floor to the hidden lever.
