Build a watchtower between a lit field and a dark one, and watch all night.
Everyone hides at night. Not you. Climb a tower above two fields and watch where the monsters come from.

What you’ll build
Mark out two fields side by side, light one up and leave the other dark, then build a tall stone watchtower between them. Climb up before sunset, seal the way behind you and tally every mob that appears in each field until dawn.
Finish line: Your watchtower stands between two fields and your night tally shows which one the monsters chose.
Bonus challenge: Second night, swap it: light the dark field and darken the lit one. Does the winner swap too? That's how you prove it was the light.
You’ll need
- Lots of cobblestone
- Two stacks of torches
- A bow (if you have one)

- My lit field's name: ____________ Town

- My bet: which field gets more mobs, and how many
Stuck?
- Give the tower a roof. Spiders climb walls, and an open top lets them reach you.
- Block the stairs or ladder below you once you're up, so nothing can follow you to the top.
- Keep your peek holes small, one block or less. Skeletons can shoot through wide gaps.
