What you’ll build
Write your own brewing spell with ingredients and numbered steps. Craft a brewing stand and bottles, then follow your spell exactly to brew awkward potions, the base for nearly every potion. Plant spare nether wart at home and copy your finished spell into a book.
Finish line: You've brewed awkward potions by following your own spell, and your spellbook is ready for next time.
Bonus challenge: The apprentice test: hand your spellbook to a family member. Can they follow it without asking one question? Fix any step where they get stuck.

- Nether wart
- Soul sand

Stuck?
- The brewing stand needs blaze powder in its fuel slot as well as the ingredient on top.
- Nether wart only grows on soul sand, but it grows fine back home.
- These supplies come from the Nether, so make one short trip with an adult or experienced player.
