Mission 166 hasn’t hit the channel yet. Subscribe and you’ll see it the day it lands.
Build a 50-block racetrack and race your record with and without Swiftness.
You versus you. Same 50-block track, same finish line, one fizzy sugar potion. Can you smash your record?
- New skill Brewing Swiftness and timing races
- Level 2 · Rise of the Kingdom
- Difficulty Beginner
- Mode Survival
- Time 30–40 min
- Ages 13+
What you’ll build
Build a flat, straight racetrack with a start gate and finish banner. Brew a Swiftness potion, run three timed laps without it and three more with it. Work out your average times and speed, then post your new record at the finish line.
Finish line: Your record is on a sign at the finish line, and you know how much faster Swiftness made you.
Bonus challenge: Add redstone to Swiftness for a longer-lasting potion (8:00), then race a 100-block track. Is your speed boost the same?
You’ll need
- Awkward potions
- Sugar
- Blocks for the track
- A stopwatch
- Food
You choose
- My racetrack's name
- Start and finish colours
- Sprint or walk (the same for every run)
Stuck?
- Swiftness lasts 3 minutes, so start your potion laps straight after drinking.
- Run the same way every time: same start, same sprint or walk, same finish.
- Sprinting burns hunger, so eat before you race.
For grown-ups
