Build a wizard's spiral tower that rises 4 m per turn, all the way to 20 m.
A wizard needs a tower so tall the clouds get jealous. One spiral stair, 20 metres, and not one step wasted.

What you’ll build
Design a spiral stair that climbs 4 m every turn, predict how many steps it takes to reach 20 m, then build the wizard's tower turn by turn, checking your height as you go. Top it with a lair full of magic and climb it to test your prediction.
Finish line: Your wizard's tower spirals up 20 m to a magical lair, and your step count is checked by climbing.
Bonus challenge: Build a secret way down the middle: a ladder or a water column. Time the trip down both ways. Which is faster, and by how many seconds?
You’ll need
- Slabs or stairs
- Tower blocks
- Glass for windows
- Bookshelves
You choose
- My wizard's name and type of magic
- Steps: slabs (0.5 m) or full stairs (1 m)
- What waits in the lair at the top
Stuck?
- Can't walk up? Slab steps are half a block, so you can climb them without jumping.
- Height drifting? Check your Y after every full turn. It should rise by exactly 4.
- Stairs facing the wrong way? Stairs rise away from you, so place each one while standing on the step below.
