Build a pirate harbour, find the secret shortcut and run the ferry on time.
Every great city needs a harbour. Yours gets a breakwater, a pirate ferry and a secret shortcut over the bay.

What you’ll build
Build a pirate harbour with a breakwater to shelter the docks, a flag flying high and a second dock across the bay. Use the coordinates of both docks to find the secret straight-line shortcut, time some ferry trips, work out the speed and post a timetable.
Finish line: Your pirate harbour has a breakwater, two docks, a timed ferry route and a timetable at each dock.
Bonus challenge: Race the ferry against walking around the bay. How many times faster is the ferry? Guess before you go!
You’ll need
- A boat
- Stone for the breakwater
- Planks for docks
- A banner for the flag
- Signs
You choose
- My harbour's name and pirate flag
- Ferry destination (an island or across a bay)
- Breakwater shape (straight arm or curved)
Stuck?
- Can't get in the boat? Stand next to it and tap the on-screen button to board.
- Ferry times all over the place? Steer as straight as you can and take the middle of three trips.
- Boats stuck in the harbour? Leave a gap in the breakwater wide enough to sail through.
