Explore the stronghold, map its rooms with coordinates and get back out.
Below base camp lies a stone maze nobody has walked in centuries. Go in. Map it. Then find your way back out.

What you’ll build
Below base camp lies a stone maze nobody has walked in centuries. Break in, leave a torch trail and explore one corridor at a time. Map every room with its coordinates, spot the portal room from a distance, then follow your torches back out.
Finish line: You've mapped the stronghold, found the portal room and made it back out to base camp.
Bonus challenge: Hide a sign saying 'You found it' in the deepest room, then challenge a family member to reach it using only your map.

- A stack of torches
- Food
- A sword
- Armour
- Squared paper
You choose
- My stronghold's secret name
- My torch-trail rule: torches on the ____________ wall going in
- My map's symbol for danger
Stuck?
- Lost? Keep torches on your right going in, so on the way out they're on your left.
- Silverfish attacking? Strongholds have mobs, so keep your sword ready and fight in narrow spots.
- Found stairs up to a stone ring over lava? That's the portal room: mark it, don't climb it yet.
