What you’ll build
Design your own pixel picture on paper, then build it giant. You'll match each coloured square to a block, start with the bottom row and build up row by row, checking your drawing each time. Fly back at the end to admire it.
Finish line: Your pixel art wall matches your paper drawing.
Bonus challenge: Build a second copy next to it in totally different colours. Which version do you like more?
You’ll need
- Wool or concrete in your colours
- Your drawing on squared paper
You choose
- Your picture (pet, heart, flower, your own idea)
- Size (16×16 or smaller)
- Where it goes
Stuck?
- Picture looks shifted? Recount the bottom row, then build every row from the same starting edge.
- Keep your first design small, around 8×8 to 16×16, so it's quick to finish.
- Fly back often to compare. Mistakes are much easier to spot from a distance.
