Build a lit patrol wall, count every mob for 2 nights and find the pattern.
The explorer vanished at night. Tonight, you walk the walls and count everything that moves.

What you’ll build
Build a patrol wall around HQ with a watchtower at each corner, light the inside and leave the outside dark. For two nights you'll walk laps on a timer, tallying every monster you spot. Then crunch the numbers to find the commonest mob and the busiest lap, and build a wool bar chart to show it off.
Finish line: You have a patrol wall, two nights of mob tallies and a wool bar chart showing what you counted.
Bonus challenge: Make your wool bar chart as tall as the real counts and add a sign on top of the tallest bar: "Most wanted.".
You’ll need
- Lots of building blocks
- Plenty of torches
- A bow and arrows or a shield
- Wool in several colours
- A timer

- My patrol's call sign
- Patrol style: wall walk, tower ring or glass bridge
- My bet for the most common mob
Stuck?
- Spiders climb straight walls. Add a row of blocks sticking out at the top so they can't get over.
- Monsters spawning inside the wall? Add more torches until there are no dark patches left.
- Sleep on the third night. Stay awake too long and phantoms start swooping down from the sky.
